Frequently Asked Questions

  • No.

Read. Gather. Lead. is a peer advisory experience. not just a casual book discussion group. We all benefit when everyone contributes to the conversation.

Business books give us shared language, but the real value comes from:

    • Thoughtful peer conversation

    • Multiple perspectives on real decisions

    • Principles and practices you can apply to your business

This membership empowers you to apply concepts from these books to your business, in collaboration with other value-driven leaders.

  • No.

You’ll never be expected to read an entire book each month. We focus on:

    • Selected chapters

    • Key concepts

    • A specific framework

You’re also welcome to listen to the audiobook instead of reading. The goal is to cover the shared material in whatever format is most comfortable for you.

  • Each gathering includes:

    • A short, guided framework from a business book

    • Peer advisory discussion (members offer perspective and thoughtful questions)

    • Space to reflect, process, and decide

    • One clear next step before we meet again

This is a facilitated, respectful conversation.

  • To protect the integrity and continuity of the group, membership includes a clear agreement:

    • One-year commitment

    • Attend at least 9 of the 12 monthly meetings.

Consistency matters in peer advisory spaces. Trust and shared wisdom grow over time and your presence contributes to the whole. Of course, life changes occur. If you become aware that you will be unable to attend at least nine of the meetings during the year, please reach out to Laura to make accommodations.

  • The Read. Gather. Lead. membership is built on trust, respect, and thoughtful conversation. Members often share real experiences, challenges, and decisions in a setting that invites openness.

Requiring a background check is one way we steward that trust.

    This practice helps us

    • Protect the safety and dignity of the community

    • Create a space where members can participate openly and confidently

    • Uphold our commitment to integrity, care, and wise leadership

We believe strong communities are built not only on openness, but also on wisdom. This is one of the ways we honor both.

  • This experience is designed for:

    • Small-business owners

    • Solo entrepreneurs or owners with small teams

    • Thoughtful leaders who value integrity and clarity

    • People seeking perspective, not hustle culture

  • This may not be a good fit if you:

    • Want quick hacks or tactics only

    • Prefer being told exactly what to do

    • Aren’t open to discussion and reflection

    • Are unwilling to engage respectfully with peers
